Private Home, Mike & Claudia

The pilot of Kristof's Home Concert Series Sharing With Friends 2011, coming this fall. The series will be held in private homes, where people gather with friends for dinner, deserts or cocktails, and enjoy an intimate treat of soothing, colorful and engaging stories told on the piano.

Played my first living-room concert yesterday at a very dear old friend's home. Made some new friends, shared some personal history, did a little musical story-telling with the kids, and had a really nice time communing with the group - thank you so much Mike and Claudia for having me ♥

Clayote

This is an art studio, and the best out-of-the-way open microphone place around. Bring a close friend, some food and wine, and enjoy :)

Clayote was a repeat performance, and it was FAB!!! :) The feel of that place is so mellow - I love it. I shared stories of life and love on the piano and at the microphone, I met April, a local guitarist and teacher, her mom Mary-Alice, a Country & Western line dancer, sat with Butch, Dani and Chris' Pug, under my feet, sipped wine, ate cantaloupe,  and listened to pure and beautiful musical sharing - happy :)

I performed a few pieces that I don't do often, because they lend themselves particularly to the sort of calm and intimate atmosphere that Clayote provides. The small, but thoroughly engaged, audience helped me with names for a few pieces, and provided me with some really nice feedback, as I journey down the road of maturing the infant pieces I offer up for sharing.

French Quarter Bistro

I enjoyed playing the French Quarter last night, though it was a short show. I got to commune with good friends, Cathy, Mark and Mike. The Just for the Sharing tour is a journey full of unexpected pleasures: I saw golfing in a restaurant, bolt-stacking, and drank a draught of beer whose name is difficult to pronounce - these little things are nice stories for telling the morning after, because I was with good friends.

Thanks to Dave our host tonight, who spared no inconvenience to provide a good production. The sound was really nice. He even did some video recording - I hope I can post some good stuff for everyone to share. We'll see - stay tuned.

I got to tell some stories tonight, and I played a piece that I originally recorded only two weeks after composing it, but since then have not performed live very often. I hope to perform this (and a few others like it) several times during this summer tour, to really mature my renderings artistically :)

Wyndham Gardens (Inn at Chester Springs)

New relaxing piano solos with a modern classical sound, with a whimsical jazzy sparkle

Thanks to all the cats at The Wyndham Gardens (the old Inn at Chester Springs) in Exton PA. The vibe was a lounge-y jazz-y thing, and the crowd was not the 20-something gang at The Epicurean; so I suaved it a-little for them, and kept it very cool. It was a very successful night, and I got to share with a nice mellow portion of the crowd :)

The Epicurian

New piano solo pieces with a modern classical feel

Thanks SO MUCH to all my old friends who came out to see tonights appearance - Cathy, AnnaMarie, Trish, Ray, Mike. It is so heart-warming to re-acquaint after all these years!

The Epicurean was awesome, and I enjoyed the young and enthusiastic crowd so much! The two birthday girls, Andrea and Moira were a very special part of the evening.

Thanks especially to Moira for sharing her passion for equestrian sports and music during the performance. It added to the energy a great deal :)

Cozy Hookah and Cigar Lounge

New solo piano music to just for the sharing. A new selection with a little jazzy flare will be premiered.

Performed at a hookah lounge last night. Folks really do just hang out and smoke there. The intimate, but young and enthusiastic, crowd was really heart-warming. I got to play for about a half-hour, and engaged in a nice dialogue during the show. And a friend came out to listen too. Thanks John :)

Clayote

Impromptu music to share in this intimate cafe venue

Clayote WAS FABULOUS!!! :) I didn't realize it was an art studio. The audience was the most intimate fare so far in the tour, since there was no walk-through traffic, all just those attending the concert. A handful of musicians, and music lovers quietly communing, was freeing.

I got to perform At First Tentative and Anticipating the Chase, two of my newest compositions, and really enjoyed the sharing. There were a few folk music people there, and I still feel the quiet afterglow from connecting with those beautiful souls. This is a side of Pennsylvania I had long forgotten about, and I feel enriched having re-visited it.

Thanks to all who came out last night. After a week off to visit with my oldest son, it was very nice to get back to the musical sharing, and I look forward to the next several dates with a sense of anticipation that makes me feel young.

I enjoyed the premier of "At First Tentative", an entirely new piece for solo piano. I also had the pleasure of reminiscing with someone about life in the San Francisco Bay Area - thanks Ed. Good times :)

Thanks all at Paulo's in Shillington for hosting tonight fantastic performance! Low turn-out of musicians vying for the microphone meant Kristof was able to do nearly a full show. Along with some improvising, and of coures a few of Kristof's staple  compositions, two new concert pieces were aired out to the intimate audience Paulo's :)

The Railroad House

This is the first appearance in a summer tour where I will be playing as much as I can, wherever I can, to share recently composed piano music with the people in my community.

What a nice start for the tour!! The crowd was great! I got to tell some stories, and play some older pieces of mine, improvised for a short while, and played a brand new piece, called "Jennifer's Peach", after an inspiring home-movie of my wife at the Jersey shore as an eight-year-old.

I also got to play about an hour with the house band on some Country, Blues and Rock standards :)

Keep an eye out folks - I am playing open-mikes all over Southeastern PA - at least three shows per week, for the rest of the summer.
